SME's Tax Form 990

IRS Form 990 is the Non-Profit tax form that SME has to complete.

Here you can find their filings from 2004-2007 (see item 10).

Very interesting reading.

A certain trustee had direct conflict with Great Falls City Code section 2.52.050.

So what's new?

I will sleep so much better knowing that John Lawton, when he was City Manager, was receiving addional compensation that helped keep him out of the poor house.

Very interesting that he was on the payroll, as a trustee, on the SME Board when the City of Great Falls was making significant contributions to SME. The question now is this: Did the City Commissioners and Mayor at that time know of his fudiciary relationship with SME and, if so, why did they allow such conflict of interest to exist? VERY INTERESTING!

The folks at Beartooth should be really curious about what their
general manager earned and where
they are now in a 'big hole'...

Not only very interesting, but probably VERY ILLEGAL!

I wonder if he filed honestly with the IRS?

GFGirl - thank you for all the work you've put into this ...

Looks like you jumped the gun again, gfgirl. Lawton did nothing improper, and had you dug a little deeper, you would have found that out. Shame on you.

Hard to find the facts about the City, SME and ECP when everything is hidden in the secret box. I would never expect them to get caught on the limited information out in the public domain.

Don't gloat just yet.
