Freudian Slip?

In my nearly 30 years of voting, I never thought of going to the polls as the "full dog and pony show", but that is what Rina Fontana-Moore, Cascade County Clerk and Recorder, called it. This interview also aired on the 5:30pm and 10:00pm newscasts on Wednesday.

I hope this isn't how she really feels about voting.

Indeed an unfortunate remark from a senior public official who should have known better than to diminish the vital democratic function of voting. I truly hope it was a 'slip' that we the voters are 'dogs and ponies'?

After hearing the remark I had the impression that her remark was what she thought of the voting done in person rather than mail in. Seems to me she would prefer mail in only voting.

I submit to you that she has made this opinion very clear throughout the term of her office. At every stage, Moore has done what she could do "reduce the workload" of voting.

Is there any wonder why most people now vote absentee? It makes it easier for Moore to do her job.

Perhaps there are some things that are worth the effort.

Some resemble parts of a pony. Does that count?

I think she - as an elected public official - should explain herself
at the next county commission meeting - in public.
