Let's not raise parking meters just because of unimaginative thinking on enacting innovative parking plans that don't just rely upon raising fees. Many urban communities have faced this challenge and implemented creative parking and 'parking free' zones...the least that could be done is to 'bag' the meters for a day or two and try some other innovations to attract folks downton to the speciality stores
that offer quality and value. Throwing more $$$ or raising fees not always the best first response.
Instead of the city 'whining' to raise meters, why don't they get going behind the thousands who want a grocery store?
