Humane Society of Cascade County

Here is a letter that Humane Society board member Jan Cahill wrote to City Manager Greg Doyon.

Let's hope this organization can finally get a decent response from the city.

Very nice letter, and thank you Jan. I hope this helps Mr. Doyan is seeing thru the fiasco with the AF. I am glad to hear that the Humane Society is still available to run the shelter. Now mabey the the foundation, and Society can come to terms with a new Manager in the House that is willing to do some real cleaning and representation.

Jan Cahill a good man, solid citizen and HSCC and AF should work
together, not against each other...if only the pets were in charge, no egos!

Whatsup with the HSCC?? Doing zip and then they say "Any representation to the City of Great Falls that the Humane Society of Great Falls is not interested in operating the animal shelter is simply untrue."
Mr. Cahill says they told the city boys and girls they would run it in a proposal on Sept 4, 2007.

So I looked at the proposal. Whatsup? The HSCC tells city hall in 2007"HSCC submits this amended proposal to perfom animal shelter services.HSCC believes code enforcement services are more appropriately performed by the Great Falls Police Department than a humane society and declines to submit a proposal to perform code enforcement services for that reason."

The HSCC says it does NOT want to run animal control and the city should do so.

Go figure. This group has never gotten its act together. Yes. No. Yes. No. Not the city's fault on this rollacoaster.

Interesting for sure. So GFGIRL, what are the facts? Why should the city respond with a "decent response" when the HSCC doesn't want animal control? What is the HSCC doing and why are you so in love with them??

There was a pretty good comment on the Trib site from someone asking "What does HSCC actually DO?" He went on to say that his girlfriend had volunteered at the neuter / spay clinic last week end (Spay of the Falls) and that she had also attended the Fur Ball (Animal Foundation.) He was unaware that HSCC even existed, since they are doing nothing worthwhile.
So, GFGIRL, why the outpouring of support for this do-nothing group? Is it just because they oppose the city? Pretty shallow reasoning to me...

If you would read some of my posts regarding the Humane Society, you would realize that I do not have undying support for them, just as I do not have undying support for the Animal Foundation.

Just because one may or may not like a group doesn't mean their side of the story should be ignored or that they don't deserve recognition.

I gave you the information so you can decide for yourself.
