In celebration of Great Falls' 125th anniversary, the second volume of Great Falls Memories has just been released. This is a photo album depicting life and events in Great Falls from 1940-1980. (The first volume highlighted the city from 1884 thru 1939).
According to a picture description submitted for this latest volume, this structure in Great Falls was the tallest building in Montana in 1956. Can you name it? Hint: It still stands.

PigDaddy,
Lighten up!
I'll post the answer on Monday, unless somebody beats me to it!
Milwaukee Station.
PigDaddy, what the heck are you griping about? It's a freakin' trivia question! How are conflating that with some sort of "living in the past" fantasy?
And as for the question: my gal thinks it's the US Bank building.
I'll go with Firefly on this one. Its the ole Milwauke Train Depot Tower.....
Sandra: My vote for the tallest building in Great Falls (circa 1956) would be the same building your business is located. The old Columbus Hospital at 16th and 2nd Avenue North. Sorry David, but the current US Bank Building was not around in 1956. Milwaukee Station...hum.....Firefly and Great Falls Guy might be correct but I'll stick with my original choice.
All guesses are very good, but according to the submission found on page 9, the answer is the Country Club Tower Apartments, which is 11 stories tall. (The Columbus Center has 8 stories).
I was surprised too!
Sandra,
Since I do not know how the Ole Milwaukee Depot tower compares either in feet or total stories, it looks to be close? Do you?
Now, is that building height or building elevation?
Bridgekeeper: What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? King Arthur: What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
What's the actual height of a story?
