Cable 7 Dissolution

As many of probably already know, due to a lack of funding and a contract with the City of Great Falls, the board of directors of Cable 7 voted to dissolve the corporation effective October 1, 2010.

I noticed the City has dumped the old Cable 7 Community Access TV site when I used my bookmark to view the site. All the Cable 7, Inc. Board meeting minutes are gone.

Original address: http://www.greatfallsmt.net/cable7/board.htm

The replacement site: http://www.greatfallsmt.net/channel7/index.php

The replacement site is under construction - more city staff time spent on a very unnecessary activity. If the City Manager had been willing to negotiate an access contract, Cable 7, Inc. would still be in business.

I am the current Secretary/Treasure of Cable 7, Inc. and when I asked Mayor Winters at the Oct. 19, 2010 City Commission meeting why the City refused to discuss a new contract with Cable 7, Inc. to use the City's cable access, Winters promised to find out at the Nov. 3rd Work Session. Reportedly, city staff plans to discuss channel 7 options at this Work Session.
