Thank God. Most of the ECP board didn't even show up. That's telling you something.
Not at all surprising that only two ECP members showed up and even they did not take advantage of the commission agenda item for boards, such as theirs, to report to the commission. I was disappointed about this important oversight from these "professionals", but was not really surprised since this was the first time, since their inception, that any board member has shown up to talk, on ECP matters, and they probably did not even realize the oversight due to their failed inexperience with this reporting procedure.
I'd have thought perhaps Mr. Lawton and others of his perspective would have showed upto endorse the board members. George Paul spoke well about the frustration of the citizens and letting the board move along, but he's not 'experienced' the board proceedings personally. I appreciated Mr. Paul's remarks. Showing up 'does matter'....There's still a 'daunting challenge' ahead for the commission on how to 'unwind' from Southern in a prudent manner and we citizens will 'back 'em up' and our city manager. Go for it Mr. Doyon, and we'll see you in Billings!!!
That was the most ridiculous meeting I have ever watched. The failure of the Mayor to control Airport Director Schultz was a joke. Instead, Commissioner Bronson had to deal with her. What a farce - and it will get worse, I am sure.
What has happened to Ms. Schultz lately? Not sure what yelling at the city commission gets you.
Ms. Schultz is unraveling - if the Airport Authority replaces her, they will have good cause.
Commissioner Bronson's response was appropriate and he's a team member on the commission there to help when requested. There seems to have a misundestanding all around - commission, staff, airport director - on what 'exactly' was supposed to have been on the agenda. Mayor Winters was perhaps taken 'aback' by her behavior, considering she's professional executive and her anxiety was quite apparent. The commission kept their cool I must say and did't say 'off with her head' as we saw years before. This issue came out like a 'bolt from the blue' and hopefully all parties will be prepared next time, if it comes to that before the commission. Our Mayor and commission has a 'full plate' and they've showed dedication, enthusiasm and courage as they continue to learn and improve along with staff.
