Manager’s Proposed Budget Presentation – Greg Doyon
This should be an interesting meeting, because at the May 5, 2009 work session, Assistant City Manager Cheryl Patton, explained that [balancing the budget] "it is not easy this year".
Gosh, I wonder why. (Here and here).

I hope more explanations about police funds 'bleeding' out of the animal shelter...
Picky, picky, picky.....
The city lost over $700,000 operating the animal shelter the past two years. This is a LOSS of over $700,000. This is over and above the revenue from the city's general fund and fees and licensing. Don't be surprised to see another projected loss exceeding $350,000 for FY2010 OR a "loan" (sound familar?) of $1,400,000 to the Animal Foundation to build a new shelter. Either way, the taxpayer once again has no say and can only watch more money go down the drain.
Taxpayers once again hosed!
Idiotic decision (city take over of shelter) with resulting loss of over $700,000 with the likelihood of any change at somewhere between ZERO and NONE! AND THE CITY CLAIMS IT NEEDS MORE MONEY TO HELP FUND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. hum......?
This is perhaps Mr. doyon's big opportunity to act like a city manager and a leader. Should be interesting!
