The board means well, but they should have seen the 'train wreck' coming if they had been looking at their monthly financials go deeper into the red......Now is the time for them to come out better for the crisis, have smaller, agile, short and cleaner diesel (MT biodiesel eventually) busses, keep same number of drivers and hire more for more service, night service and serve new territory around the city. WE CAN DO IT!
Yes, they could come out the better for handling their budget more responsibly. Maybe they learned poor management skills at the knee of the Commission.
However, MT bio-diesel is NOT good for the environment. It produces far less, if not negative, energy per unit than other currently developed alternative fuels AND because of the equipment that plants and harvests it. They run on regular, expensive fuel still causing pollution.
Try alternative, such as hybrid or electric buses, we have the sun, or grasses which produce up to 8 times the energy per unit it takes to plant and grow.
