Speaking Of The School Levy...

Here, school trustee, Jan Cahill, indicated he would get back to us about some programs offered at Great Falls High that I questioned.

"I will provide information on the three positions (upward bound, vision and golden triangle) tomorrow", which would have been around April 24th.

He didn't. Did he forget or did he think going into details about these programs might not ensure positive votes?

Hello. I thought my response had been posted last week regarding the three programs (Golden Triangle, Visions and Upward Bound). I should have paid closer attention to the blog. There is certainly no reason to have avoided providing the answer. I spoke with Assistant 7-12Superintendent Tom Moore and Beth Gerhart, Associate Principal at Great Falls High, several weeks ago. Upward Bound and Visions are NOT funded by the school district. Golden Triangle (Mental Health) has changed it's name to the Center for Mental Health. The Center for Mental Health provides services to a few students who are experiencing serious emotional mental challenges and those costs are paid by the parent, private insurance or in some instances through a contract with the district. I have been assured there are no district employees with these three programs. Jan Cahill, Trustee

So far of the people that I have asked if they are voting for the levy, 8 out of the 11 are voting no.

Might be close, but I really do think it will be shot down. At least I hope it will.
