Not A Great Day For Animal Activists

Yesterday Susan Overfield was found guilty of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and assault. She was fined a total of $1,280 and sentenced to 5 days of house arrest.

Next, the independent investigator the city hired to review the internal investigation done by the police department into wrong doings at the animal shelter, cleared the city of the allegations. According to the report, "The facts do not substantiate any finding of animal abuse or neglect at the shelter".

I hope we have seen the last of the theatrics from this group, but I kind of doubt it.

The "animal activist" just became "city critics" now the will just melt in with the rest of the people that want to get rid of the ignorant commissioners and Stebbins.

Mary Jolley needs to get out there and recruit more people like her to take over the commission.

Don't forget the Writ of Mandus is still on the table. I highly doubt the animal activists will ever stop. Mabey the HSCC will, but not those that were screwed for real by the city take over of the shelter.

What people forget is that there were other people and animals hurt in this. The city just changed policies, and corrected their "errors". Thats ok, good for them. It takes error to learn, and thats how they knew what to fix.

It will just not e over for a while though. I don't really think it will be over untill the new shelter is built and the city has given the bid to someone else, and goes back to dealing with the city stuff, and not chasing strays.
